William Bouguereau copy
Photoshop
March 2007

Done for the Open Figure Drawing Workshop Angels and Devils . A copy of William Bouguereau's Dante et Virgile au Enfers or at least a very small portion of it hehe.

My first completed all Photoshop painting. My previous workflow typically included scanned sketch with PS coloring. I've had many previous attempts at this but have always gotten disgusted with the start and quit early. This time I pushed through and managed to complete something. My schedule got away from me as usual so I was only able to finish the demon portion. Painted in Photoshop using various standard brushes with a (don't laugh) Wacom ArtZ II tablet I've had for over 10 years. This thing is a work horse that just won't quit. Started around 3000x3000 pixels finished painting was closer to 3000x1000.

I'm glad I finished but I'm not pleased with it, guess thats a good sign.
Thanks for reading.
